The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office took Harvey Mitchell into custody for the alleged murder of his wife, Keya Mitchell. Investigators arrested Harvey Mitchell on the 1200 blk of Johnson Avenue in Augusta around 6 p.m. Sunday.
Richmond County Deputies were called to the 500 block of Richmond Hill Road West, just after 1 a.m. in response to shots being fired.
Sources say deputies found 34 year old Keya Mitchell shot in the head.
Harvey Mitchell will be committed to the Richmond County Jail on the charges of Murder, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
This is Richmond County's 21st murder of the year.
