The man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend’s current boyfriend is facing nearly four decades in prison after being charged with first degree murder.
Auburn’s Michael Ray Fiorini, 26, allegedly broke into the Federal Way apartment that his ex-girlfriend, Tracey Petitt, lived in just after 3 a.m. last Thursday. Police believe Fiorini then shot and killed Petitt’s boyfriend, 27-year-old Christopher D. Johnson.
Police were able to track him down a short time later with the help of a K-9 unit, and Fiorini was found carrying a pistol with a fired cartridge in the chamber, according to court documents.
Fiorini’s dad told detectives that his son was agitated about Petitt’s new boyfriend and earlier that night said “I’m going to kill that son of a bitch.” The father also said Fiorini was armed with the pistol when he left his house at about midnight.
Fiorini is also facing a first degree burglary charge, and if he’s convicted on both counts he could be sentenced to anywhere from 31 to 38 years in prison, according to the King County Prosecutor’s Office. He’s currently in jail on $2.5 million bail and his arraignment is scheduled for March 15.
