ROSEVILLE, Mich.
Macomb County authorities say a woman asked her brother-in-law and nephew to beat up her boyfriend, an attack that killed him after he was left for 19 hours on the kitchen floor.
Fifty-one-year-old Yvonne Chambers of Roseville, 50-year-old Donald B. Johnston of Eastpointe and 30-year-old Bradley S. Johnston of Warren were charged Wednesday with second-degree murder.
Roseville police Deputy Chief James Berlin says Chambers decided that Gregory Cusson deserved a beating after they argued March 2.
Berlin says Chambers sought help the next day after the 54-year-old Cusson remained unconscious. He was in a coma and died at a hospital a week later.
The three suspects have been jailed on $500,000 bonds. The name of their lawyers weren't immediately known. The next court date is April 20.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
