Police say a San Pablo man killed his longtime girlfriend with a rifle Thursday afternoon before turning the weapon on himself.
Friends and family heard nothing from 47-year-old Cenobia Gonzales or 51-year-old Nilsson Steven for two days, before a relative went to their home on the 2900 block of Willow Avenue and saw something amiss through the window, San Pablo police Detective David Neece said.
Police arrived about 2:40 p.m. and found both people dead from gunshot wounds. Police believe Steven fired the shots.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
