BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a murder suicide in an East Jefferson County home.
Sheriff's Deputies were called Sunday afternoon to a home in the 2800 Block of Arrowhead Drive. When they arrived, they found 30-year-old Jennifer and her husband, 33-year-old Joshua Whitworth shot to death.
The father of Joshua Whitworth forced his way into the home after not being able to get in contact with his son since Friday and discovered both bodies.
Deputies say Joshua shot his wife Jennifer before turning the gun on himself. Narcotics deputies were also called to the scene to remove what appeared to be several marijuana plants from the home.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
