EAST HAMPTON, Conn. (AP) — A man described by police as a "person of interest" in the slaying of an East Hampton woman has been found dead in an apparent suicide.
Police say 22-year-old Oscar Wojtanowski (wodg-tuh-NOW-skee) apparently killed himself Sunday by jumping from a five-story parking garage at the Mohegan Sun casino in Uncasville.
Police say he was being investigated in connection with the death of 24-year-old Jaclyn Fitzgerald, who was found dead inside her home on Friday after being reported missing.
Autopsies are being conducted on both bodies.
East Hampton Police Chief Matt Reimondo says Wojtanowski was Fitzgerald's on-and-off boyfriend, and that the couple had a "rocky relationship."
The chief says the investigation in Fitzgerald's death continues.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
