The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of two people near Altha.

The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of 51-year-old Bronze Danny White and 53-year-old Janelle Renee White near Altha.
Investigators were notified about the killings which appears to be a murder/suicide around 2:00 Saturday afternoon. They say that it appears Jannelle White was fatally shot while in bed, and Bronze Danny White died of a self-inflicted gunshot.

They say the incident happened on State Highway 71 about four miles south of Altha.
Authorities say the two were formerly married, but neighbors do not report that there were any signs that things would turn violent.
The medical examiner's office is scheduled to perform an autopsy Monday.
