ALVIN, Texas – A man accused of shooting his ex-wife while her teenage children slept last week was still on the loose Wednesday, and investigators were asking for the public’s help finding him.
Investigators said Mateo Moreno Ramirez, 41, fatally shot Christina Garcia, 35, at a home in the 2000 block of W. Adoue Street early Friday morning.
When officers arrived at the scene around 2 a.m., they found Garcia’s body inside. Police said her 15- and 17-year-old children were asleep in the home when their mother was killed and did not witness the shooting.
Alvin police issued a murder warrant for Ramirez, but his whereabouts were not known.
Investigators believe he could still be in Alvin or Galveston, but he could also be headed to Mexico.
Ramirez is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information on Ramirez’s location is asked to call Det. Patrick Moore with the Alvin Police Department at 281-388-4370.
