A Tampa man faces multiple charges after he killed his girlfriend with a machete, police say.
Police received a phone call from the home the pair shared at 2022 E. Thrace Street at 10:38 p.m. Sunday saying Alexander Cote-Ferrer had cut his girlfriend, then run away.
Officers arrived and found the victim, Danitza Fonseca, 50, cut multiple times. She died at Tampa General Hospital.
Fonseca's two daughters and one of their boyfriends witnessed the attack, police said. They told police Cote-Ferrer also threatened them with the machete, but they were able to run outside and call 911.
