Two people were found fatally shot in a Prescott Valley home in what is believed to be a murder-suicide, authorities said.
A friend of Marcella Thomas, 39, went to her home Saturday night and found Thomas and a man dead, said Dwight D'Evelyn, spokesman for the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office.
Evidence at the scene led deputies to suspect the man shot Thomas before shooting himself, he added.
Officials said they believe Thomas and the man were in a past relationship, but details were not immediately available. The man's name has not been released.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
