Evansville, IN: Venue Change Requested in Death Penalty Case
Attorneys in the Jeffrey Weisheit case will ask for a change of venue at a hearing Friday morning. Officials with the Vanderburgh Circuit Court say that granting that request will likely mean Weisheit's trial will be held in a different county. Weisheit is the Evansville man accused of lighting his house on fire while his girlfriend's children were inside. That fire killed his girlfriend Lisa Lynch's two kids, Alyssa and Caleb Lynch, back in mid-April. Vanderburgh County Prosecutor Stan Levco plans to seek the death penalty if Weisheit is convicted.
