CASPER, Wyo. (AP) ― Casper police say a man fatally shot his wife with a rifle before killing himself in the kitchen of their home.
Casper police Sgt. Steve Schulz says the shootings are still being investigated but authorities have determined that what happened was a murder-suicide. Forty-nine-year-old Michael Dornberger and his 42-year-old wife Donna Dornberger were pronounced dead by emergency responders who arrived at their home.
A relative who lived with the couple called authorities at about 1:22 a.m. Thursday after hearing gun shots and finding the couple unresponsive. Shulz says the couple had been having financial and personal problems but authorities have not determined a motive for the shootings.
The couple moved to Casper from Kansas within the last year.

(NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
