By Charlie Van Sant @ August 10, 2010 9:12 PM CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina -- Jury selection begins for the trial of a former Marine accused of killing a pregnant Marine from Vandalia.
The body of 20-year-old Lance Corporal Maria Lauterbach was found burned and buried in Cesar Laurean's back yard.
Lauterbach accused Laurean of rape and of fathering her unborn baby. DNA tests after her death showed that Laurean was not the father.
She vanished in December, 2007 and her remains were found the following month.
Laurean has pleaded not guilty. He trial is expected to last two to three weeks.
