SPOKANE -- The Spokane County Sheriff's Office says there's nothing suspicious about the death of a 25-year-old inmate Saturday morning at the county jail, but the exact cause of death is not known.
Tristan N. Jordan was found dead in his cell as deputies arrived to serve breakfast around 6:30 a.m. His cellmate told deputies he last saw Jordan moving in his bunk around 4:30 a.m.
Sheriff's major crimes detectives were called in investigate the death and reported finding nothing suspicious. The cause of Jordan's death won't be known until after an autopsy and toxicology tests.
Jordan was being held on a Second-Degree Murder charge after he shot and killed his girlfriend at a home near Gonzaga University. He led police on a brief chase through the Gonzaga campus before shooting himself in the head in the parking lot of the McCarthey Athletic Center. He was booked into jail in December after undergoing treatment at a Seattle hospital.
