SAGERTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A northwestern Pennsylvania woman has been charged with homicide and assault following the death of her husband, who police say was stabbed in a domestic dispute.
The Erie Times-News (http://bit.ly/o5Co3f ) says 46-year-old Diedre Stoll was arraigned Friday in Crawford County on the new charges.
She had been arrested after 50-year-old Willis Stoll was stabbed last weekend in their CussewagoTownship home. He died Thursday at UPMC Hamot in Erie, and the county coroner ruled his death a homicide.
Diedre Stoll cried and visibly trembled during her Saegertown arraignment, which had originally been scheduled as a bond hearing.
Public defender Jeffrey Misko says it has not been shown that his client was the aggressor. He says she had filed domestic violence complaints against her husband in the past.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
