S.C. authorities arrested Corey Jamaine Dozier, 31, after a car chase on I-26.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man wanted for killing his girlfriend and shooting a man in Jacksonville on Sunday was arrested Monday after an armed robbery and carjacking in South Carolina.
Authorities say 31-year-old Corey Jamaine Dozier is being held in the Dorchester County, S.C., jail without bail.
Authorities say Dozier shot his 27-year-old girlfriend, Sherry Desravines, and a man who was visiting her home on Polk Avenue, near the Trout River early Sunday morning.
Desravines died of a gunshot to the head. The man shot drove himself to the hospital and was treated and released.
Authorities said Dozier fled north in her car, robbing a service station in St. George, along Interstate 95.
Police said Dozier then crashed that car and, after lying down along the pavement of Interstate 26 as a ruse, hijacked the car of a Bowman couple who stopped to help. Authorities said he drove that car toward Charleston until he was arrested.
During a Monday bond hearing, Dozier held his head in his hands and said he didn't mean to hurt anyone.
