Texas police are on the hunt for a man suspected of throwing his girlfriend's dog out of a 19th-floor apartment window, where it fell to its death.
Authorities say the incident began when the suspect got into an argument with his girlfriend on Saturday in the elevator of a Dallas apartment building, where he allegedly punched her several times in the face, leaving her bruised and bloody.
The woman then went up to their shared apartment and poured bleach on the man’s clothes, MyFoxDFW.com reports. After the man reportedly entered the room later and saw the clothes, he threw her Maltese dog, Diego, out the window, police reports said.
The dog fell 11 stories and was found dead on the 8th floor's pool deck.
The suspect is wanted on animal cruelty and family violence charges.
Police had not released the name of the suspect, MyFoxDFW.com reported, and a police spokesman wasn't immediately available for further information.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
