Oklahoma City, OK: Wife confesses to killing husband

OKLAHOMA CITY—An Oklahoma City and made an astounding confession to police, saying she killed her husband.

Police were called to the Countryside Village Apartments in southwest Oklahoma City on Saturday after receiving that call.

Neighbors say the whole incident comes as a shock.

“It was scary, “ said Kendra Chandler. “When detectives showed up, we didn’t know what was going on.”

When officers arrived, they found 40-year-old Terry Spead dead and his wife, 38-year-old Carolyn Spead, waiting to be arrested.

Captain Dee Patty with the Oklahoma City Police Department says, “We interviewed witnesses when we arrived on scene, some of which may have been inside the home at the time of death.”

Investigators have not released a possible motive or the condition in which the body was found.

“It’s rare for our department to have someone call and admit to killing a person over the phone,” said Patty.

“They were nice. I never saw or heard them argue or anything,” said Chandler. “[Terry] would always wave and speak to us.”
