GLENDALE - Glendale Police are releasing the identities of a man and woman, found stabbed to death inside the mail room on Luke Air Force Base over the weekend.
They are 62-year-old Gaudioso Gamilla and his wife, 61-year-old Vilma Gamilla, both of Goodyear, Arizona.
Worried family members called base security on Sunday after not being able to reach the couple.
Their bodies were found about 7 p.m. on Sunday. Authorities at Luke Air Force Base told FOX 10 their stabbing deaths were a murder-suicide, but it's not clear who is the victim and who is the suspect.
"From what I've been told, there's a small office in the back, one victim was sitting in a chair, and the other was lying on the floor, at the feet of the other victim," says Major Jerry Mulhollen. Security video show the two entering the mail center alone.
Gaudioso Gamilla is retired Navy, and worked at the Luke AFB mail center as a contract employee.
The motive is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
