MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- There is a new lead in the murder of a Moreno Valley woman who was killed and then set on fire while her children watched.
Brandi Morales' body was found Feb. 22 in a house in the 11800 block of Wild Flax Lane. Authorities believe Morales' former live-in boyfriend murdered her and left her body in her home. She was a mother of six.
Police are asking for the public's help to track down 39-year-old Tyrone Levoid Harts, who is considered armed and dangerous.
"What makes his crime so vicious is that he committed the murder in front of her children," said Riverside County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Joe Borja. "Her children range in age from 6 to 15 years old.
Authorities said one of her children tried to put out the flames.
Harts is known to hang around the Riverside County area, specifically Corona. He faces murder charges.
Morales' mother, Cindy Rael, is asking for the public's help to find her killer.
"I'm asking for someone to turn him in," said Rael as she wept. "Someone needs to realize he killed my daughter and these six little children are left without a mother."
Rael said the children called him dad. They were sent to a safe location for their protection.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Riverside Sheriff's Department at (951) 776-1099.
