GLOUCESTER
A man was charged with felony hit-and-run after his girlfriend was found in a ditch alongside Cooks Landing Road on Wednesday night.
Deputies were called to the scene at 9:24 p.m. and found Megan Hogge, 34. She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead, according to a news release from the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office.
There was no vehicle at the scene when deputies arrived, but deputies were searching for a two-tone Ford pickup truck.
About 1 a.m., deputies located the truck in a vacant lot at the end of Maundy’s Creek Road. About 45 minutes after it was found, the owner returned and was arrested.
Frank West Jr. was charged with hit-and-run involving a death, reckless driving and driving on a revoked license.
No other details were immediately available, but the investigation was continuing.
