The Sacramento County Coroner's Office has released the name of a woman deputies believe was killed in a murder-suicide over the weekend.
She was identified as Maria A. Maldonado, 31, of Sacramento.
Sacramento County homicide investigators believe that the deaths of Maldonado and a man in a North Highlands shed were the result of a murder-suicide.
A 28-year-old man and Maldonado were found shot to death in the shed behind a house in the 5800 block of Rosario Boulevard late Sunday.
Detectives believe the man shot Maldonado and then took his own life. Both had suffered gunshot wounds to their heads.
The man's name was not available, pending notification of family.
Investigators found a gun inside the shed, which had been converted into a rental unit. The shed, where the man lived, was locked from the inside.
Friends and co-workers of the pair reportedly had become concerned Sunday because the couple had not been seen since Friday night. Several of them went to the house , broke into the shed, found the bodies and called sheriff's deputies.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
