LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Police are investigating after an overnight break-in at a home where there was murder-suicide over the weekend. Police say they got a call around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday about a possible burglar at the home on Silverton Lane.
According to LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell, when officers arrived at the home, they sent in a K9 and the suspect came out without incident. Mitchell says it appears the suspect entered through a back door.
The 41-year-old man, who has not yet been identified, was taken into custody.
The coroner's office says 49-year old Terrance Griffaw shot his wife, 50-year old, Debra in the head, then turned the gun on himself.
The couple's son found the bodies early Dec. 5.
