ABILENE, Texas -- The Nolan County Sheriff's Department has confirmed to KTXS News that an apparent murder-suicide has claimed the lives of two people.
Nolan County Sheriff David Warren says the incident began about mid-morning Monday with a call to 9-1-1. Warren says 37-year-old James Elmer Rainey shot and killed his wife Amy Diane Rainey, also 37.
James Rainey then traveled to a second location where he took his own life after being confronted by sheriff's deputies.
Sources say the Raineys were in the process of getting a divorce.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
