A woman fatally shot a man at a condominium late Wednesday night before turning the gun on herself, according to investigators.
PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. -- A woman fatally shot a her husband at a condominium late Wednesday night before turning the gun on herself, according to investigators.
Jefferson County Sheriff Tony Hernandez said the shooting happened at the Worldmark Condos about 10 p.m., but it was not clear what prompted the attack.
Hernandez said the woman called 911 and said "I've just murdered my husband and I'm going to shoot myself."
Both people were alive when officers arrived, but died on the way to a hospital. They had both been shot once with a .38-caliber revolver.
Hernandez identified the couple as Evelyn Carroll, 70, and Leron Carroll, 74, of La Center, Wash.
Hernandez said detectives were expected to spend Thursday collecting evidence at the scene.
