A hospitalized southwestern Pennsylvania man is charged with fatally stabbing his estranged wife inside her home.
A district judge arraigned 56-year-old Richard Allen Dunkovich as he lay in a bed at Allegheny General Hospital on Thursday. Authorities say Dunkovich stabbed his wife, Brenda Dunkovich, Friday in a home in Cecil Township, Washington County.
Police forced their way into the home after Brenda Dunkovich called dispatchers and reported her husband was attacking her. Investigators say she died of multiple stab wounds.
Officers found Richard Dunkovich on the floor near his wife with a stab wound to the abdomen. He remains hospitalized in fair condition.
Police say the couple was going through a divorce.
