A Brentwood man who led police on a manhunt after allegedly gunning down the boyfriend of his estranged wife has been captured, Suffolk County police said.
Quinton Rubin, 36, of 56 Bruce Lane in Brentwood, entered a trailer on the side of a home in Bay Shore around 4:30 a.m., Tuesday, police said. When inside, Rubin allegedly shot and killed 36-year-old Sean Berry. According to police, Berry was the boyfriend of Rubin’s estranged wife.
A day-long manhunt ensued after Rubin fled the shooting scene on Kenneth Lane in Bay Shore early this morning. Around 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, police announced his capture in a news release. Police officials did not detail the circumstances surrounding Rubin’s arrest on Tuesday night.
Rubin, who will be held overnight at the Third Precinct, faces one count of second-degreemurder. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at Suffolk First District Court in Central Islip.
