Socorro, TX: Body of woman found in Juarez linked to possible murder-suicide in Socorro

The body of a woman was found Tuesday afternoon at a trash dump in Juárez. Investigators were trying to determine whether she was a missing Socorro woman being sought by authorities.
Channel 26-KINT reported that the dead woman had characteristics similar to the missing woman and that authorities were working with U.S. law enforcement to determine her identity.
El Paso County sheriff's deputies on Tuesday were investigating a possible murder-suicide that occurred Monday.
Deputies discovered the body of Johnnyray Nevarez about 5 p.m.
Monday in a vehicle parked off Gas Line Road near Hueco Tanks, a sheriff's spokeswoman said. Detectives think Nevarez shot and killed himself.
Earlier on Monday, police in Socorro received a call from a friend of a Socorro couple, claiming a 27-year-old man spoke of killing his 20-year-old wife, and had planned to dump her body in Mexico before killing himself.
A Socorro spokesman said that police went to the couple's home on Aaker Street and began searching for the couple and a missing vehicle, which was later found.
Officials have not confirmed that Nevarez is the same man sought by Socorro police.
