Salem, VA: Amber Alert: Man abducts girl whose mother was killed

SALEM, Va. - Missing 12-year-old Virginia girl whose mother was found dead may be a victim of an abduction according to police. Roanoke County Police Chief Ray Lavinder issued a warrant for 32-year-old Jeffrey Scott Easley with abduction after 12-year-old Brittany Mae Smith turned up missing.
An Amber Alert was issued in hopes someone will spot her, Easley and the car he may be driving.
There is belief that they may be headed to Florida. Chief Lavinder said Smith seemed to "just drop off the face of the Earth" without much money.
Smith's mother's body Tina Smith was found dead in her Salem home Monday. Smith was Easley's live-in girlfriend. Her death was ruled a homicide however officials have not released how she died.
Brittany was last seen Friday December 3rd in Salem, Virginia. She may be traveling with Easley in a 2005 silver Dodge Neon 4-door sedan with a rear spoiler and an "Obama" sticker on the rear bumper. The Virginia license tag is F XKF-2365.
