Cheektowaga, NY (WBEN) A domestic dispute turns deadly in a Cheektowaga apartment. A man is now charged with the murder of his wife.
Cheektowaga Police Capt. Jim Speyer says officers were called to an apartment on Garden Village Drive by a neighbor who heard arguing and a man apparently beating his wife around 1:40am Tuesday. Speyer says officers found Trevell Walker and his wife Chandra inside the apartment. "It was obvious to us Chandra had suffered multiple lacerations, and at that point we took Travell into custody," says Speyer. Speyer says an ambulance was summoned but crews were unable to resuscitate her.
Travell Walker was arraigned in Cheektowaga Town Court. "He'll be charged with second degree murder and possession of a weapon," says Speyer. Speyer says there were no previous calls to that apartment, and no prior indication of problems there
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
