Police say a western Pennsylvania man was playing with a gun when it went off, striking his live-in girlfriend in the head and killing her.
Aliquippa police say 32-year-old Simone Cox was shot and killed Tuesday night. Her boyfriend, 30-year-old Marcus Raynor, told police he killed her when he pulled the trigger of a handgun thinking it was unloaded.
Investigators say Raynor called 911 to report the shooting and has cooperated with authorities.
Police say Raynor is facing charges including involuntary manslaughter.
