Sentencing is scheduled Friday for a Bonita man convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend and their 10-month-old son.
Dennis Potts, 25, was accused of strangling Tori Vienneau, 22, and their 10-month-old son, Dean, to avoid paying child support.
The defense claimed the real killer was Daniel Moen, a jealous boyfriend Vienneau rejected.
Moen tearfully testified in August about his "best friend" relationship with the baby, saying he would lay his life on the line for him.
Potts could get the death penalty.

(NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
