HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Authorities say a 31-year-old North Carolina man killed a 26-year-old man who was dating his ex-girlfriend, before turning the gun on himself.
The Citizen-Times of Asheville reports Saturday that Joseph Gaydish of Lake Lure died at an Asheville hospital.
Henderson Police Capt. David Adams said Gaydish killed his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend, Russell Flood of Pisgah Forest.
Adams said Gaydish asked Flood and his ex-girlfriend to meet him at a Hendersonville restaurant. The three got in a car and rode around together late Friday. Gaydish then shot Flood from the back seat, then himself.
The 29-year-old Pisgah Forest woman said she and Gaydish broke up several months ago but were still friendly. She told police they did not argue while in the car.
