KNOXVILLE — A Nashville man suspected of killing his ex-girlfriend jumped to his death from a third-floor hotel balcony Saturday night as officers prepared to confront him.
Billy Troope, 50, was wanted in the beating and strangulation death of Wendy Sue McKinney, 46, of Dickson, who was found dead Wednesday in a Hampton Inn hotel room in Bellevue, according to Metro Nashville police.
Knoxville police used Troope’s cell phone to find him staying at a Ramada Inn on Kingston Pike in West Knoxville.
