A Reno man is charged with murder in the death of a Sparks man Friday night
SPARKS, NV - A Reno man is charged with murder in the death of a Sparks man Friday night.
Police say around 9:15pm, 32-year-old David Sanchez-Dominguez showed up at the home of his estranged wife on Fireburst Drive in Wingfield Springs. There is a temporary restraining order against Sanchez, who is not supposed to be at that home. Police believe he walked in through an unlocked door and was confronted by his wife's family, including 29-year-old Roberto Corona. Corona stepped between Sanchez and Corona's mother as the two argued. Sanchez then pulled a handgun from under his shirt and shot Corona in the chest, according to police. Other family members wrestled the gun from Sanchez, then tied him up until police got there. Corona was pronounced dead on scene.
Sanchez's wife was not home at the time.
Sanchez was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the family scuffle, then booked on charges of murder with a deadly weapon, being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm, burglary with a firearm, and violation of a restraining order.

(NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
