A Dinuba couple killed in a double-shooting Wednesday that police suspect was a murder-suicide have been identified.
Clarrissa Gonzalez, 22, and Carlos Herrera, 26, were found about 2:40 p.m. inside the bedroom of their house in the 300 block of North Lyndsay Way.
Both had suffered single gunshot wounds to the head from a high caliber handgun, police reported.
Police believe Herrera was the shooter.
Investigators have not confirmed the exact relationship between Gonzalez and Herrera, except to say that they lived together and shared custody of two children.
Those children, girls ages 1 and 5, were found in a pickup parked in the home’s driveway by someone who responded to the house after the shooting and later notified police, according to Dinuba Police Chief James Olvera.
Tulare County Child Welfare Services workers have placed both children in the custody of a relative, Olvera said.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
