BOLIVAR, Tenn. (AP) — A West Tennessee jury has convicted a man of murder in the killing of his former girlfriend almost six years ago.
The Jackson Sun reported the conviction on Thursday of 34-year-old Jose Luiz Vizcaino-Ramos in the March 2004 murder of Mary Graves in Hardeman County.
A judge at the trial in Bolivar sentenced Vizcaino-Ramos to life in prison.
Vizcaino-Ramos lived in Bolivar when Graves was shot a half-dozen times in front of her home, between Bolivar and Hornsby. He fled to Mexico and it took six months to extradite him last year.

A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
