Beeville, TX: Three Left Dead In Bee County Shooting

BEEVILLE (Kiii News) - A domestic dispute turns deadly in Bee County after a husband shoots his wife and her parents, then turns the gun on himself. It happened Friday morning in Tuleta, about 12 miles North of Beeville.

The shooter, and his in-laws are now dead, his wife was taken to the hospital. A 15-month old girl was at the home during the shooting rampage, but was not injured. Bee County Sheriff Carlos Carrizales Junior was taken aback by this shooting, saying things like this don't happen in Bee County.

The Sheriff also says in his 25-year old Reshay Rodgers is lucky to be alive. 3 news was there as Reshay arrived at Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi after being taken by Halo Flight. The Sheriff says his office received a phone call just after 8:45 AM on Friday. Reshay had gone to a neighbor's house, covered in blood, asking for help. Sheriff's deputies arrived on scene minutes later.

"A short time later they made entry and discovered one deceased male, one deceased female, and one wounded male subject," said Sheriff Carrizales.

The wounded man was identified as 52-year old Kenny Rodgers. Rodgers was taken to Christus Spohn Beeville where he later died. Kenny's wife, 49-year old Retha Rodgers was found dead at the family's home on FM 1465 in Tuleta.

It's unclear whether their 25-year old daughter Reshay was visiting her parents, or lived at the residence. The Sheriff says Reshay's 15-month old baby girl was at the home Friday morning while the shootings took place, but was not injured. The Sheriff also says Reshay was separated from her husband, the suspected shooter. The Sheriff says Reshay and her husband were on and off, but were separated and planning on getting a divorce.

The Sheriff says the shooter is 30 year old Billy Coy Lowe from the Three Rivers area. Sheriff Carrizales also says he believes while deputies were securing the residence, Lowe shot himself in the head.
