PATASKALA, Ohio - The victims of a double murder-suicide were revealed by investigators on Tuesday.
Investigators said Brian Scott Kolesar shot Charles W. Cheadle and Cheadle's daughter Julie A. Arnold along state Route 16 on Monday, 10TV's Kevin Landers reported.
According to investigators Kolesar, 38, and Cheadle, 75, died in the shooting, Arnold sustained serious injuries.
The shooting occurred shortly before 5 p.m. between York and Watkins roads, 10TV's Justin Moss reported.
Licking County Sheriff Randy Thorp said that deputies arrived and found the bodies of the two men inside a vehicle that was parked along the road.
The third victim, Arnold, was shot outside the car and was found lying on the pavement, Moss reported.
Arnold was transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus where she underwent surgery on Monday night.
Thorp said that no one else was involved in the shooting and their initial investigation pointed to a murder-suicide.
According to investigators, Arnold and Kolesar had been involved in a "troubled" relationship.
Cheadle was Arnold's father, investigators said.
Investigators found two guns inside the vehicle but only one of them was used in the shooting, deputies said.
State Route 16 was closed during the investigation.
Investigators said Arnold was recovering from two gunshot wounds to the chest on Tuesday.
Detectives said they are still investigating the shooting to determine the manner in which the shootings occurred and the sequence of events that lead to the shootings.
