HILLSBORO - A Hillsboro man is dead and a woman is severely injured after a violent domestic dispute Tuesday morning.
Sheriff's Deputies rescued the female victim and her 2-year-old son at their house on Farm to Market Road 2559, as the suspect, 30-year-old Stanley Bazaar Mathes, locked himself in a bedroom.
Police negotiators talked with Mathes on his cell phone for an hour and a half before he shot himself in the head.
The woman was airlifted to the hospital. Her condition has not been released
Child protective services released the boy to his grandmother.
