An Escambia County man remained in jail with no bond Sunday evening on a charge of fatally shooting his wife outside the couple's house in western Escambia County.
James Scott Thompson, 50, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder Friday in the death of his wife, Bobbi, who was shot in the face near the couple's home in the 4900 block of La Ventana Circle shortly after 9 p.m. Friday night.
Thompson made his first appearance in court via video from Escambia County Jail on Sunday morning.
Thompson's next court appearance is Nov. 10 in Escambia County Circuit Court.
