The scene outside Twickenham Place apartments after a man was found shot to death this morning.
HUNTSVILLE, AL -- Police have charged a woman with murder after police say she shot her 49-year-old boyfriend in a home they shared earlier today, authorities said.
Police said the woman, Veronica Lashelle Bass, 34, shot her live-in boyfriend, Willie Lee Bradford, 49 sometime around 9 a.m., police said.
Bass told police she came home and found Bradford dead in the hallway of their apartment at Twickenham Place off of Sparkman Drive. HEMSI responded, but Bradford was already dead.
Police arrested Bass shortly before 3 p.m. and charged her with murder, police said.
Bradford had lived in apartment 705 for more than a year, and neighbors said Bass lived with him.
One neighbor said she heard two gunshots, but it sounded like a door slamming. She said she didn't hear any fighting or arguing prior to the gunshots.
