The husband of a woman found beaten to death in her home last month was in jail Wednesday for her murder.
William Lynch is accused of killing his wife, 45-year-old Joyce Marie Lynch, the weekend after Thanksgiving.
The victim was found dead Nov. 27 by her 18-year-old son. She was lying in a pool of blood on the floor at her home in the 15000 block of Yorktown Colony Dr.
Her husband and her car were gone, investigators said.
The Lynches' son tried calling his father, but got no answer.
Court documents state that Joyce Lynch's car was spotted in St. John the Baptist Parish in southeast Louisiana, driven by Lynch. The St. John Parish Sheriff's Office took him into custody for an unrelated traffic violation, officials said.
Investigators said they compared Lynch's palm print to a bloody palm print found at the scene of the homicide, and they matched.
During an interview Monday in Lousiana, Lynch confessed he hit and kicked his wife in their home that day. He said she was unconscious but still breathing when he left.
Lynch, 43, was returned to Harris County where he was being held without bond Wednesday night. He was scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
Records show that Lynch has previous arrests for injury to a child, possession of a controlled substance and assault of a family member causing bodiily injury.
