TUNICA, Miss. (AP) - A former Mississippi game warden has been arrested by the Tunica Sheriff's Department and charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of his wife.
The Commercial Appeal reports 54-yeaer-old Lester Johnson was taken into custody Wednesday night following the death of his wife, Rhonda Layton Johnson, at their Tunica home.
He was charged with murder Thursday and remains in the Tunica County jail with bond set at $1 million.
Tunica County spokesman Larry Liddell said details about the shooting have not been released.
Liddell said Lester Johnson is a retired game warden with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.
