CEDAR PARK, Texas (KXAN) - A concerned father called Cedar Park police at 6:30 p.m. Friday when he could not reach his daughter, 20-year-old Amanda Simmons.
Police showed up to the Arboleda Apartments at 900 Discovery Blvd. and knocked on her door. After no answer, police forced their way in and found her and her boyfriend, 22-year-old Christopher Bowling, shot to death.
Both of the victims were in their 20's and lived in the apartment together. Preliminary investigation points to a murder/suicide.
This was the first time police had been called to the apartment.
Investigators are working to schedule the autopsies for Saturday. They say this will likely provide more answers.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
