SOCORRO, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say a Socorro man has been arrested in the slaying of his girlfriend.
New Mexico Department of Public Safety officials say 56-year-old John James Hayden was booked Wednesday into the Socorro County detention center on a no-bond hold.
They say Hayden will be facing charges of an open count of murder, kidnapping and aggravated battery against a household member.
Authorities say Hayden was identified as a suspect in the shooting death of Theresa Saiz-Chavez. Her body was found Tuesday night in a vehicle found parked under a bridge off Chaparral Road.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
