The Sevier County Sheriffs Office is investigating an apparent murder-suicide that occurred in a rental cabin in Sevier County.
Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals said that at approximately 1:30 p.m. April 8 the sheriff’s office responded to a call of two unresponsive people and a foul odor in a rental cabin at 2311 Summer Lane that had been discovered by cabin maintenance personnel.
When officers arrived they found a deceased man and woman in a bed in the bedroom, both suffered from gunshot wounds.
When sheriffs’ investigators arrived on the scene they determined through evidence that the woman had been murdered by her boyfriend and that he had then taken his own life sometime after that.
The woman was identified as Samada M. Moor, 37, of Memphis. She had been reported missing by family members to the Memphis Police Department on April 7. The man was identified as LB Park, 43, of Memphis.
The investigation revealed that Moore was last seen on at approximately 9 p.m. April 4 by family members in Memphis and she was in the company of Parks, who was a former boyfriend.
Records reflect that Parks had checked into the cabin at about 4:15 p.m. April 5.
Moore was transported to UT Forensic Center where an autopsy will be performed. Parks body was released to the Sevier Co. Medical Examiners Office.
The investigation is ongoing with a joint effort between Sevier County Sheriffs Office and Memphis Police Department Missing Person Division.
