A Prescott Valley Police officer shot and killed a 54-year-old man Saturday after officers responded to a domestic violence call, police said.
Police did not release the name of man or of any involved officers. The Department of Public Safety is assisting Prescott Valley police with the investigation, said Prescott Valley spokesman Sgt. Brandon Bonney.
Officers responded to the call around 4 p.m. in the 5200 block of Stetson Drive, Bonney said. He did not provide additional details of the shooting.
The man was airlifted to Flagstaff Medical Center with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the hospital. No officer was injured.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
