James Eubanks
James Eubanks was charged Wednesday with second-degree murder in the shooting death of his girlfriend, Erica Abrams.
The couple were in an apartment at around 10 p.m. Monday at 1092 Homer when they began to argue.
Eubanks, 24, said Abrams armed herself with a gun. He told police he tried to take the gun from her and it discharged.
The Shelby County Medical Examiner’s office ruled her shooting death a homicide. He is being held on $3 million bond.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
