South Hutchinson Police have released the names of the husband and wife who were found dead over the weekend in an apparent murder-suicide. South Hutchinson Police Chief Scott Jones said in a news release that at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, officers and Reno County Sheriff's deputies responded to the reports of shots being fired at a home at 229 East Avenue C in South Hutchinson.
When law enforcement arrived, they found the bodies of 42 year-old Paul B. Cooper and 41 year-old Sarah j. Cooper inside. Their deaths have been ruled a murder-suicide.
An investigation discovered that the couple had been arguing into the early morning hours. Chief Jones said Paul Cooper eventually brought out a high-powered rifle and shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself.

(NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
